Ararat is located between the Grampians and Pyrenees ranges in the central highlands of Western Victoria, 200 kilometres from Melbourne, on the Western Highway and 100 kilometres west of Ballarat. Today, the Ararat area has a population of approximately 12,000 people.
Ararat Primary School offers a comprehensive curriculum including a German program; Visual and Performing Arts; Circus Program and Physical Education. The scope of the schools Performing Arts program includes music, choral singing, band and circus skills.
Our day begins promptly at 8:50am. Students who arrive after 9:00am must report to the office for a late pass.
Parents should note the times of supervision and be aware that the school does not accept legal responsibility for the supervision of children outside these stated hours.
All students are dismissed at 3:20pm. Any students remaining at school at 3:40pm will be brought to the office, and their parents or emergency contacts will be contacted.
Children who need to be at school before 8:40am or after 3:20pm should make use of the YMCA Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service. Bookings for OSHC must be made directly with the YMCA - the school is unable to take bookings. Contact: 0400 886 524.
